The Short Answer

CWC 2027 matches start at one of two times at the ground: 10:00 or 12:30. That is 1:30 pm or 4:00 pm IST, 1:00 pm or 3:30 pm in Pakistan, and 9:00 am or 11:30 am in the UK until the clocks go back on 31 October. Most matches, including all of India's but one, the semi-finals and the final, start at 10:00; the 12:30 slot is mostly the second match on double-header days (ICC fixtures).

Every venue, in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia, runs on UTC+2 with no daylight saving, so the conversion is one number per country: add 3 hours 30 minutes for India and Sri Lanka, 3 hours for Pakistan, 4 hours for Bangladesh, 9 hours for Sydney; take off 1 hour for London until 30 October and 6 hours for New York until 6 November. The full table is below, with the two dates on which it changes.

The whole schedule by team, in your own time zone, is on the Cricket World Cup 2027 schedule page, and India's matches have their own page in IST.

The Time Difference, Country by Country

Add this to the start time at the ground. Computed from the official time zone database for October and November 2027.

Where you watchAdd to ground timeHolds
India (IST)+3 h 30 minthe whole tournament
Sri Lanka+3 h 30 minthe whole tournament
Pakistan (PKT)+3 hthe whole tournament
Bangladesh+4 hthe whole tournament
Afghanistan+2 h 30 minthe whole tournament
UAE (Dubai)+2 hthe whole tournament
Singapore+6 hthe whole tournament
UK (London)-1 h, then 0 hUK clocks go back on 31 Oct 2027
US East (New York)-6 h, then -7 hUS clocks go back on 7 Nov 2027
US West (Los Angeles)-9 h, then -10 hUS clocks go back on 7 Nov 2027
Australia East (Sydney)+9 hfrom 3 Oct 2027, when daylight saving starts
Australia West (Perth)+6 hthe whole tournament
New Zealand (Auckland)+11 hthe whole tournament

So a 10:00 start is 1:30 pm in India, 1:00 pm in Pakistan, 2:00 pm in Bangladesh and 7:00 pm in Sydney; a 12:30 start is 4:00 pm, 3:30 pm, 4:30 pm and 9:30 pm.

India's one exception: every India match starts at 1:30 pm IST except the Super 7 game against South Africa in Johannesburg on Sunday 31 October, a 12:30 start, 4:00 pm IST. Both possible India v Pakistan matches (10 October and 7 November) are 1:30 pm IST.

The Two Clock Changes in the Middle of the Tournament

The host countries do not change their clocks, but three big audiences do, and two of them do it mid-tournament:

  • UK: 31 October 2027. British Summer Time ends, and the gap to the grounds goes from 1 hour to 2 hours: a 10:00 start moves from 9:00 am to 8:00 am. India's Super 7 match against South Africa in Johannesburg is that very Sunday, at 10:30 am UK time.
  • US: 7 November 2027. Daylight saving ends, and New York goes from 6 hours behind the grounds to 7: a 10:00 start moves from 4:00 am to 3:00 am. That Sunday is also the possible second India v Pakistan match, in Cape Town, at 3:00 am in New York.
  • Australia (east): 3 October 2027. Daylight saving starts before the group stage begins, so Sydney is 9 hours ahead for every group match onward; only the first Super Series game on 2 October is at 8.

The practical lesson: do not do the conversion once in October and write the answers down. Put the matches into something that stores the real instant, a calendar or a reminder set in your own time zone, and let it handle the change.

If You Watch From the Americas, Matches Start Overnight

South Africa is 6 to 10 hours ahead of the US and Canada during the tournament. A 10:00 start is 4:00 am in New York (3:00 am from 7 November) and 1:00 am in Los Angeles; a 12:30 start is 6:30 am and 3:30 am. For fans in North America the useful reminder is the evening before, unless you plan to set an alarm. The schedule tool defaults to 8 pm the evening before when it sees a time zone that far west.

How to Get a Reminder Before Every Match

Converting once is easy. Remembering on the day, five weeks in a row, is the hard part. Two ways to hand it off:

  • Calendar: the schedule page builds a free .ics file of your team's matches as timed events in your own time zone, with an alert before each one.
  • WhatsApp: the same page writes your team's matches as reminder messages for NagMeLater, one line per match, at most six per message, 30 minutes before each start by default. Send it and each match arrives as a WhatsApp message at toss time, in your time zone, clock changes included.

Prefer 15 minutes or an hour? The schedule page offers both, or the morning of match day, or the evening before.

One honest note: NagMeLater is free for 7 days from your first reminder, and these matches are a year away, so the reminders need a plan to fire in October 2027 (from $4.99 a month). The calendar file is free.
